The Cooks River Fun Run is back!!

Join us at Freshwater Park this winter for a 10km, 5km or 2km Family Dash with each event offering scenic flat paths along Cooks River.

Bring the whole family and soak up the awesome community atmosphere in Sydney’s Inner West.

After a 2 year hiatus, Race Hub Australia are excited to bring back the Cooks River Fun Run this winter. The event has been hosted by Strathfield Council since 2011 and we are now thrilled to be a part of this much loved community event.

Get racing to take part in this great family event that showcases the Bay to Bay Cycleway from Freshwater Park to Ford Park. Participants can choose from a number of categories including: a 5km or 10km run and a 2km Family Dash, ensuring there is something for all levels of ability!

All event finishers will receive a themed medal, post-race snacks, sponsor giveaways and a finishers certificate.

Event Information

RACE DAY SCHEDULE

7:00am: the event village will open for registration, bib pick-up, bag drop and sponsor tents.

8:00am: 5k race event commences

9:00am: 10km race event commences

9:45am: 2k Family Dash commences

10:10am: Prize giving ceremony.

GETTING THERE

Parking at Freshwater Park is available on Wilson Street, Ada Avenue and the surrounding residential streets. Please respect the local residents and do not park across driveways.

Bus 483 between the CBD and Strathfield runs along Ada Avenue with the closest bus stop only 200m from Freshwater Park

OTHER DETAILS

All event distances are professionally chip timed by Multisport Australia.

Each finisher will receive a themed medal at the finish line as well as other sponsor giveaways.

The 2k race is a Family Dash event aimed at getting youngsters involved in healthy outdoor activities. An accompanying adult can run with their child for an additional $10. Register your child first, then add an accompanying adult bib during the registration options. Please note the accompanying adult will not be timed and will not receive a finishers medal.

There is a 1 hour cut off time for the 5k and a 1 hour 45 cut off time for the 10k.

There will be a photographer present on the course taking photos of you, which will be posted on our website following the race.

There WILL be other pedestrians and cyclists on the paths. We recommend you do not use earphones and you need to pay close attention to everything around you. Please be aware of people, cyclists and dogs.

Race times are subject to minor changes.
